There’s a growing shift in the coaching space toward more integrative approaches, as many practitioners look beyond surface-level strategies and focus on creating more sustainable, long-term change. This often involves working across multiple areas, from mindset and behavior to personal meaning and self-awareness.
To see how this approach translates into coach training, we spoke with the team behind Natural Wellness Academy. In this interview, they share the thinking behind their programs, how their holistic framework is applied in practice, and what makes their training different from more traditional coaching certifications.
Meet Natural Wellness Academy
Founded by Dr. L. J. Rose, an international trainer, therapist, and author specializing in wellness, mind dynamics, and healthy lifestyle modalities, the Natural Wellness Academy was established in 2013. It was among the first holistic health coach training programs to integrate subconscious mind engagement and help clients build healthy habits that last.
Over the years, NWA has evolved to train coaches worldwide across more than a dozen diverse specializations. More recently, it became an approved provider of continuing education and eligibility training recognized by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
What’s the story behind your program?
There are so many gaps in the coaching world: most wellness programs do not take into consideration the “whole person” concept of balance between Mind, Body, and Spirit. In health coaching, it is crucial to understand mind dynamics to gain cooperation in creating positive, life-affirming habits; the Mind and Spirit also play crucial roles in building self-esteem and uncovering one’s passion and purpose.
All of our courses are designed around the concept of Holism and engage all parts of the coaching training and process, such as cognitive frameworks, somatic awareness, and seeking value and purpose. We also provide one-on-one mentoring, a personal touch that enhances motivation and maximizes learning potential.
What sets you apart from other certification programs?
The one-on-one mentoring is a big bonus that our candidates truly appreciate. We also offer hybrid certifications that allow for blending programs at special discounts. Most of our courses are offered fully online, and the eligibility and fast-track programs incorporate virtual classes and a study buddy system for candidates who appreciate more of a personal touch.
