Alyssa Nobriga Q&A: Inside Her Institute for Coaching Mastery Accredited Certification Program

Find the certification that fits your goals. Our Program Q&A series offers in-depth insights into the top coaching certifications, straight from the program founders.

There’s a growing demand in the coaching industry for embodiment-based and somatic approaches as coaches realize mindset work alone isn’t enough for lasting transformation. By integrating somatic awareness and trauma-informed tools, coaches can support deeper, more sustainable client outcomes, including changes felt in the nervous system and lived in everyday behavior.

To explore how this work translates into coach training and long-term professional sustainability, we spoke with Alyssa Nobriga, founder of the Institute for Coaching Mastery. In this interview, Alyssa shares how her background in psychology, somatics, and entrepreneurship shaped the curriculum, the industry gaps she noticed early in her own career, and why ICM was designed to support both deep personal transformation and the practical realities of building a coaching practice.

Meet Alyssa Nobriga.

Alyssa Nobriga is an international speaker, coach, and entrepreneur, and the Founder + CEO of the Institute of Coaching Mastery, which certifies thousands in her methodology.

She holds two master’s degrees, one in Clinical Somatic Psychotherapy and the other in Spiritual Psychology. Her work has been recognized in The New York Times, Forbes, Entrepreneur, and highlighted by leaders like Deepak Chopra.

What’s the story behind your program?

After earning two master’s degrees in psychology, I quickly realized that while I had the therapeutic knowledge to support others, I lacked the business skills to scale my impact and create a sustainable, value-aligned business. That’s why I created my program to integrate the three essential components for thriving in this career: 1) Doing your own work: this is ongoing and foundational to serving others; 2) Mastering trauma-informed tools to meet clients where they are; and 3) Being supported to start and scale a business through the lens of service.

These were the keys to taking my own career to the next level, and now I’ve trained thousands of coaches to do the same, empowering them to do what they love while feeling confident and successful.

Additionally, my goal with our certification program was to up-level the coaching industry by integrating therapeutic tools and approaches, offering a deeper, more holistic approach to coaching. We were also proud to have achieved ICF accreditation, empowering coaches to refine their skills and elevate the profession as a whole.

What sets you apart from other certification programs?

We don’t just have you embody the work so you change your own life and grow more confident facilitating others; we also give you the business skills to create clients, all while being held inside the program.

Tell us about your program.

Testimonials:

“I went into coaching, started with zero clients. I was able to work with 35 people over the course of the year, which blew my mind. ICM laid down the groundwork for me, and gave me the tools, the structure and community to really launch my coaching business.”

Kristy

“Before ICM, I was in the midst of burnout from my career in the medical field and had the fiercest inner critic. Now, I have an unshakable inner peace, I’m a confident coach — I generated 20K in my first year while still working full time and growing a human, and most of all — I’ve created freedom in my life. I’m so grateful for Alyssa, her team, and this incredible body of work.”

Thalia

“Since joining ICM, I hit my goal of creating 10 new clients in just 6 months & I’m already gearing up to do it again. I’ve cleared blocks I didn’t even know I had & gained more confidence & that’s shown up in every part of my life — as a coach, a partner, a mom, and a friend. If you’re ready to step into your power, grow your business, and create the life you’ve been dreaming of, ICM is the best investment you can make.”

Kristin
