What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a gentle, slow-paced practice that involves holding passive poses for 3 to 5 minutes, targeting the body’s deep connective tissues. The goal is to enhance joint flexibility and circulation and improve overall mobility.
Unlike more dynamic and active forms of yoga, Yin Yoga emphasizes relaxation and mindfulness. It encourages participants to breathe deeply and remain still while experiencing sustained stretches.
Technically, you don’t need a certification to practice and teach yin yoga, but most studios require a 200-hour basic yoga teacher training first, along with some yin-specific training (which can be as little as 50 hours).
